Making his pro debut is undefeated (5-0) and NAAFS ammy Champion Clint Musser.  Clint will be taking on (2-1) Pro fighter Dustin Center.  This match up will also pair fighters with a solid Wrestling background.  Clint being a 2X All-American and NCAA Division 1 runner up at Penn State and Center an NAIA All-American.  This has the makings of a great fight.

Cook VS Snyder

Cook vs Snyder

Evolve MMA continues to dominate in 2011 by winning 3 of 4 bouts at NAAFS PROVING GROUNDS

Akron, OHIO April 9th 2011, Chapparells Community Center.

Mike Clapper started off the night with a split decision win against Matt Debar from Tribal Jiu Jitsu.  Mike showed his strength in the first round taking his opponent down and displaying solid ground and pound.  Chris “The Maniac” Melillo continued his winning streak dominating his less experienced opponent, Jon Merinar from Mid Ohio BJJ, showing off his new found wrestling skills and ground control.  Chris won all three rounds convincingly and fought out of a very deep guillotine choke to win a Unanimous Decision.  41 year old, old timer, and Evolve MMA owner stayed undefeated winning a unanimous decision against a very tough fellow gym owner (Sandusky Fight Club) and ex-Marine, Jeff Snyder.  Cook took Snyders back in the first round and laid down a barrage of strikes to the head but couldn’t finish his tough opponent.  In the third, Cook fought out of a guillotine and showed his solid ground skills taking full mount and finishing out the fight in dominating fashion.  Newcomer to Evolve MMA, Andrew Law took on a VERY TOUGH Bill Morisetti in the main event and showed that with a little more work he will definitely be a force at 170 in the NAAFS.  Law used his expert Judo and solid ground to stay even with Morisetti through rounds 1 and 2.  But in the end, Morisetti edged out Law and won a close, but unanimous decision.

Next up for Evolve MMA is Caged Vengeance at the Canton Civic Center featuring the much anticipated debut of Travis “the Terror” Clark. Evolve MMA’s Bhrandon “Bad Intentions” Poindexter looks to take out NAAFS Bad Boy Tyler Saltsman.  Poindexter and Saltsman have been talking trash back and forth for weeks and have a genuine dislike for each other.  This match up pits pure Striker against pure Wrestler in a fight to settle this once and for all!  The rest of the card is stacked so this should be quite a night of Cage Fights!

Thise Saturday Evolve MMA will feature 4 fighters in the NAAFS PROVING GROUNDS at Chapparrells Center in Akron. All fights take place in the 170 pound weight class for Evolve.

The very tough Mike Clapper looks to get back on track as he faces Tribal Jiu Jitsu fighter Matt Debar. 2011 RFO tournament champ Chris “the Maniac” Melillo takes on John Merinar in his first return back to the NAAFS in over a year. 41 year old, John “The Silverback” Cook, gets back in the cage after winning his debut in November to face fellow gym owner, Jeff Snyder from Sandusky Fight Club. And finally, newcomer to Evolve, Andrew Law, fights in the main event against NAAFS series semi-finalist, Bill Morisetti.

This will be a great night of fights and pre-sale discounted tickets are available at The Evolve Training Center. General Admission ($25) and Cageside ($40).

Ryan Arce (135lb) and Josh Lasiche (170lb) made their cage fighting debuts at Midwest Combat Challenge March 12th.  Both fighters made quick work of their opponents with dominating 1st round finishes.

Ryan Arce displayed excellent boxing and takedown defense as he rocked his opponent and then finished him with a nasty Left Hook 1:40 seconds into the contest.

Josh Lasiche who also represents Ricardo Pires BJJ submitted his opponent 1 minute into the first round with a deep guillotine choke.

Evolve MMA went 2-0 on the night.
